Out of necessity, I have come up with a design for a bolt on firewall brace.
It cures a common malady with these cars.
The brace is cad designed, water jet cut, precision bent, tig welded, and powder coated.
I have sold some that to owners that actually had a gapping hole left in there firewall, after the master cylinder "oil canned" it enough.
No welding required!

Having had a 4kq with the firewall problem, I HIGHLY recommend this unit!

I've seen 82urq's piece in person, and it is VERY high quality.

posted your contact info to Audiworld, where a few guys were asking me where to get these a couple of weeks back. Hope you don't mind.

I'll vouch for this piece, a VERY fine piece of craftmanship, seen it fix the commom firewall tear problem many times.
I just found this thread linked from AW. I have two of these as well, and I can vouch for their quality and for Jeff. It can be a challenge to install, but once it's in there's not need to worry about the firewall cracking issue anymore.

back when i had my car apart for my swap, mine was cracked, so i made a small piece of 1/2" round rod that got welded between the firewall by the clutch master and the steering rack brace on the inner strut tower, works good but it was a lot of work, this woud defenitely be a nice bolt in piece to have.
