When I was 14 and looking for my first car I wanted a WRX or a 4000 turbo. Little did I know at the time the 4000 was never made in a turbo and the WRX was too much for my budget and insurance would be crazy high. I settled for a mk2 GTI which I still have and too much money and time has been dumped into. Anyway, my 4000 bug never left and I knew it was only a matter of time before I bought one. On August 3rd I bought a clean '87 4000 Quattro on Ebay. I got it for 1250 with a salvage tittle and some sweet stuff.I drove 12 hours round trip to get it with no problems. On with the photos.

My $500 S4 that I left out of gear and no handbrake on. It was a great car. :frustrated:
Hella lights not included. Going to buy some off Ebay soon.
Parts:
3b flywheel and clutch.
ebay manifold. Welds look good and I could not make one for the price I bought this for.
My plan for the car is Megasquirt MS1 COP. I will be using the stock transmission in the 4k. I know it will be a short ratio tranny which is not optimal for this engine but oh well...already sold the S4 tranny. I hope to have the engine in by next summer. It would be in sooner but I am 3 hours away from the car at college. I changed the timing belt, front main seal, waterpump, thermostat, and tensioner.
Need:
Powersteering adapter brackets so I can use the 4k pump.
All the MS stuff.
Shorter serpentine belt (A/C removed)
Rear coolant flange
Intercooler/piping/connectors
Downpipe (will make myself)
7A oil pan and pick up tube. (AAN pan will not work...right?)
This thread will be full of questions and ANY suggestions are greatly appreciated. I want to thank Tim, Dana, and some other guys on the board for answering all my PM questions. Thanks guys!
and many many more things.
