Hello everyone,

I have a 1990 Audi CQ that has been gutted and setup for the NE Hillclimb but I ran into a hickup. I noticed an issue when I took off the oil pan, the last owner had put stop leak through it. Since this is going to be beat on I plan on getting the block dipped at the very least... I'm not against throwing money down a hole to get this thing rebuilt. If it does I will be getting it ready for a turbo. I only know enough to get me in trouble though... Any advice on where to begin, or if anyone knows someone I can trust to rebuild it that would be invaluable. I have also been thinking about a swap but I have had no luck finding an AAN or 3B (I've only found one on a complete car that was too expensive to buy for just the motor).

depending on the condition you can also part the car to help defray the cost.
Fenders, wheel hubs for 5 bolt conversions, transmission, seats, etc

Where are you located?

Some trusted vendors to get in touch with, for parts/advice/rebuild, would include (no order):

.. Issam Abed, username wizard-of-od, iabedindustries.com
.. Jeff Gerner, fourringperformance.com
.. Marc Swanson, username a4kquattro, efiexpress.com

Does your engine have any issues other than noticing some stop leak in the sump? Did it run well and make good oil pressure?

If yes, run the thing! old audis are tough. Dont fix what aint broke.

If you are set on a turbo, I would use a factory audi 3b or AAN block in running condition. Rebuilding costs a lot of money, and often rebuilt engines dont last.
