For some reason I cannot access the new member section where I posted this. So here goes lol 87 5000tqm. What fluid do you guys run in the diffs, tcase and trans. I've searched this long and hard and no luck. Was thinking shock proof for diffs and tcase and mt90 2 parts to one mixed with shockproof. Thoughts?

I think the most important thing is that you have a GL4 gear oil in the trans and a GL5 in the rear differential. There is probably nothing wrong with running GL4 in the differential as well but I had a 5 gal tub of GL5 so I used that. I know supposedly GL5 gear oils can react poorly to some of the metals in the transmission.

As far gear oil goes best to stick with the factory audi/vw g50 gear oil or similar for the tranny motul works ok so does fuchs. But ultimately you get to choose use whatever you like. 10w40 is good year round oil engine weight.
That is helpful, but was hoping to get feedback from anyone who has strayed away from G05. I am not crazy about G05 myself. Things have evolved alot and levels of protection have changed immensely in 30 years.
