I decided to make an actual post about it. This morning around 7:10am my 1994 Emerald Green S4 was stolen out in front of my house. I started the car and walked inside to grab my backpack and a rock star. Walked back outside and the car was gone. I wasn't gone for more than 2 minutes and someone took the car. Car was last seen in Central Oregon.

The S4 has aftermarket wheels on it, and a thin blue line sticker that stretches across the back windshield. Im assuming the sticker is taken off by now. Oregon Crater lakes plates following: CK48221. Just got all the DMV paper work done yesterday. Nothing else to make the car stand out. 3/4 tank of gas. If you guys could keep a look out on craigslist or any other forum you are on and let all your buddies know. Thanks

Sorry to hear that... I, at times, leave my car to idle and warm up before leaving to work. I figure who the heck will want to steal an old Audi... especially a manual. I guess I should be more cautious now.

I take note to any old audi on the road, I seen a green one I hadn't seen before in Bozeman mt yesterday, but judging by your post time, it would be too early to drive that far, eyes out in MT for you.

Thanks guys. I will leave it to warm up if it is super cold outside but yesterday was pretty nice so I just left it to run inside for a couple of minutes to grab a few things.
I Guess if he headed straight there he could have gotten there around 7pm pacific standard time.

DAg that sux man.....I never do that but always suggest to the folks that do to keep a double key. Leave one wiht the car running ( and even that's just as risky), lock doors and open door with the second key.

I know it's a long shot but does anybody know if you can track a car through the analog car phone?
I usually use the second key when I am letting it warm up but this was just to grab something. I didn't think about it.

no more analog towers, doubt it would work. hope you find it, strange for that to happen in Bend... unless you live in a downtown area where there is a lot of foot traffic it seems strange that it would be anyone buy a neighbor that took it.

I live on the south side, in a decently nice neighborhood, or at least I thought.
I put on craigslist that they can have my 90 if they give me my S4 back, no questions asked.

How recently did you get the car? Did the previous owner steal it back maybe. Seems unlikely that someone would just hop in a car and take off. It would almost have to be planned out in advance. On the other hand waiting for you to leave your car unattended and running seems like a bad plan.

I bought the car three weeks ago. I talked to the PO and I don't think it was him. I went to high school with him, he was just a few grades above me. I was looking on craigslist and found a post about a lost bike, the same bike that is in my front yard. I called the cops and they came and picked up the bike, and ran the serial number, and the bike was reported stolen yesterday as well so the officer is following up with them.

I go different ways with what I think happened but based off the bike being reported stolen I feel that someone was just walking around and saw the bike, stole it and then when they saw my car they upgraded again. They can drive a manual (or at least I hope they can).

maybe they can get a print off the bike. got to be someone local if they took a bike to get around. My feeling is that it will turn up. Best of luck man. I had a car stolen in front of my shop, I looked all day and found it before the cops abandoned about a mile away behind a random out building. Broke all my glass out :(

So two other cars have been stolen within two or three streets of mine. Something is going on. This has never happened in my neighborhood. I looked around my house and the following streets. I will check a few places tomorrow.

Bump for a dude that needs help.

Ill keep my eyes peeled in Portland.

On a side note, and jokingly, that guy did a pretty good job of upgrading! And fast!

Usually a guy starts with a bike, and then ends up with a really nice car after about 10 transactions and 3-6 months.. this guy made it happen within hours!

This is one reason I have GPS tracking on all three of my cars. Its a small device that latches onto open wifi networks and plops me an email with location. it goes to a seperate email that is only for logging.

God help anyone if they stole a car of mine.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Yeah no kidding, went from a bike to an S4 in about 10 minutes. Really wishing it was my 90Q right now..
Im going to put one on my A5 here very soon, and all other cars from now on. I don't want to go through this again.

What did the police have to say about it?

Fingerprints on the bike?

Just took the report and said that he would look around the area. He said that the county and state police were looking for it and they probably went south. I honestly think I called maybe 2 minutes after the car was taken so they were probably still around. If another car and maybe even a third car was stolen I feel like there would be an extra patrol or something. The bike was taken back to the original owner. That's that last I heard.
I thought they might swab for DNA or something but maybe not.
They probably just thought I was some dumb kid who left his car running and for them the car isn't of very high importance or value. Just sucks. Im at the super pissed off point now. Like seriously who the F**k just steals someones car in front of their house. Bend Oregon is getting worse everyday.

Prints off the bike would have been helpful. Keep calling them and checking in, don't forget to be polite or they may forget about your car ;)

Good luck, I hope they catch the junkie who stole it!

Details would allow someone to spot or find mine based on size so I am not going to give that out.

That being said, its available on ebay and chinese websites.. its from china...
