Did it not start well at that temp?
Extra advance when cold will often allow the engine to start and run when its cold.
You cant go nuts becuase the combustion chambers heat faster than the coolant does and the potential for knock is there.

Not very well, took a few tries
As a result of this weekends tuning I lost my fatter cold prime settings (reset to a file from a diff laptop) and I have not had a chance to re-fatten them.
I'll bump the adv a bit and see if it helps.

If you run into a cold snap, cycling the the key on and off is a good way to get extra cold start enrichment without using the laptop. It also helps you to know what you should change the settings to.

You might have to do some tweaking, but I've got a decent PWM table for the 2-wire ISV...if you've got a GPO to run it on, I've just got it setup off the manifold with a check valve and breather filter on it to keep it from leaking boost. Not as nice as the closed loop thing 034 sells, but the car starts and idles up straight away in the morning when it's stupid cold out, and doesn't bog when loaded with accessories when warm.

Yep, good method. I am working on getting it to work with as few user imputs as I can. Right now I can jump in cycle the key and modulate air with my foot no problem. The idea is to get it to the point that I can just turn the key and have a nice quick start every time.

Keep in mind that there is a hot/cold threshold with independent prime PW and qty numbers for each condition.
If the engine will start easily down to 32, then set that as the threshold and double or triple the number of pulses.
Also it can take time to get up to pressure so make sure you have fuel pressure or all the pulses in the world wont yield much fuel.

No it will not, that is this is the first I have heard about it.

Translation: He wants a IIc, he got the IIc itch, a IIc would put a bump in his shorts, etc, etc.

Gosh, any time you say "has an itch" and "bump in his shorts" in the same sentence, it congers thoughts of a skanky ho, or the consequences thereof.

That would be great! AIM is cool but a smaller multi-function gauge that you could put where the trip or Autocheck resides would be cool.

Bummer, if it was a 4 we could have gotten you another GPO.
Are you doing dizzy ignition I presume?
If so we could jumper the second driver to the spare GPO.

Mcstiff wrote: Yes dizzy. IIRC you cannot run COP IGN with the Ic and 5 holes.
No but it is possible to use two drivers on 5 cyls using 2 waste spark coil drivers and 3 waste spark coils.
You run out of spark though at low RPMs.
Anyhow your ECU can be modified to use the second coil driver as a second GPO.
Interested?
