I am thinking of changing to the Vems ecu and has anyone made a cheat sheet for wiring up to the original harness for the ABZ V8

I'd still with MS if you've got it working OK, don't think VEMS really adds anything in terms of capabilities.
I only went for VEMS on mine as Hilly (of Lotus Esprit fame) was able to supply me with a preconfigured unit and also the housing and connectors are a bit more robust than the MS. In terms of their ability to run the engine I very much doubt you would see any benefit in changing over. The one thing that made the biggest difference on mine was getting it properly mapped on a rolling road, it transformed the way it ran. IMHO, with the supercharger on it and the higher levels of boost on yours, there is just too much chance of destroying the engine trying to map it any other way.

thanks for the input and i will take what you have said as good advice and more than likley not change from the MS but i still want to redo the harness and i would like to know what wire on each of the ecu plugs need to go where and wish there was a easy cheat sheet for this instead of having to look at the wiring diagram witch is a pain in the A$$

I didn't use the Audi wiring diagram that much as it wasn't that easy to read. The way I went about it was to untape the engine loom so that I could actually see what wires went to each of the sensors/injectors that I needed, removed anything that wasn't needed and extended any wires that were too short (using wires from the loom off a spare engine so the colors were still right). I then went through it a wire at a time connecting up to the ECU using the ECU connector pinout drawings to work out where to connect to and the ECU reference diagrams for how to connect in the relays.
If you do decide to switch to VEMS it would be worth contacting Hilly. When he did mine he offered to supply a full kit including a loom, relays, fuses and instructions on how to hook it up (I ended up just getting the bare ECU without the loom from him though) - he may still be doing the looms?

I am at a bit of a dilemma i just pulled the GT in and looked at it and not sure of what i really want to do, do i put the engine in it or take it all apart and do the notch back it is less work to do the GT and it is in just as good a shape as the notch back but it has a bit of flex due to the T Tops so i would need to address that

Have any of you tried Extreme tape it is rated to 500 degrees F and it has no glue and you heat it to get it to bond i am going to try it on the wiring harness i am hoping for good results

well i tried some of the tape and it work good i will finish putting the harness together and then use it . the only thing i dont like about it is you have to cut off a length of it to be able to wrap the wiring it is hard to use right off the roll but i will take pictures off the harness when done
