I see that in Europe they had the S8 in the 1990's and they made 340 hp so what was different about the engine?

Yes i see that it has higher compression but not even one full point more it must have some better cams to go along with the compression due to it's kinda hard for me to believe you would get 40 HP from less than one point of compression

Maybe so but the s8 functions and performs with s6 harness/ecu. Btdt

Also it has 11.5:1 where other 40v's hav 10 so its actually 1.5 difference.

10:1 vs 11.5:1 makes for a quite large difference.

hmm i thought it was 10.8 for a A8 but since it is a 1.5 points difference yes that would explain. what has any one got for HP out of a 32 Valve 4.2 V8 with the 10 to1 compression with like headers , cams and intake or individual throttle bodies and still be streetable

The 32V S8 has much more valve lift than the others, to the extent that is has specially machined heads to clear the cam lobes and solid lifters on the inlet valves.

Nice work on the hubs btw. Did they already use a bolt-in bearing?

If you're going 5x100 its worth noting that most 5x100 rotors will not fit on the 5x112 hubs. The diameter of the hub is larger than the inside mounting surface of the rotor. Iirc the centre bore is also different.

Unless you turn down the hubs to suit, you may have to run re-drilled 5x112 rotors.

Just thought I'd mention it in case it turns out to be important
