All my 10v goodies have been sold. No more 200tq. No more 4000q.

I sold all 20 of my valves to get 20 valves in one car.
I bought a 1995 S6. :D
219,000 miles. needs a coolant pump and fresh brakes.
everything works. runs great. pulls hard. tight suspension.
Picked it up for $2,000.

All new rotors/pads. Spent money to get the Zimmermans. :-)
New left rear caliper. Slide pin snapped off. :frustrated:
Flushed brake system w/ fresh DOT4 with VAG tool.
Replaced the auxiliary coolant pump.
New Interstate battery.

The car has a like-new brake pedal now. It snowed yesterday and I took it out to "test the fresh brakes". I had no grip on the "all-season" W rated Kuhmo 225/50r16s. Still fun to drift in slow motion at 5mph. :P
I still need to replace the dead starter, flush the coolant with G12, and get some 205/65r15 snows on my freshly painted 15" wheels.

I'll have about $1000 into this thing to get it back on the road, but I'll have a $3,000 solid Everything-works S6 by the end. :D

Pics soon. :)

Very nice grab. With I could find somthing like that around these parts. $3000 seems pretty good for a fully functional S6.

Got the S6 on the road last night, and just in time.
We're getting FEET of snow here.
Got the new starter in, and got all the licensing/insurance taken care of. Even scored some free 225/45r17 tires for my wheels.
Had to make an emergency door wiring fix. Went to pull it out and go home, and suddenly none of my windows worked! :frustrated:
I also snipped that pesky blue/white wire under the back seat while I was in there.

Got that all taken care of and drove her home in the snow storm. :D

I think the snow on the front end/hood shows how deep the snow was today. And we're supposed to get another 12-18" over the next 36 hours..

I know this is a blurry camera phone pic, but it really shows how much snow we got.
This is my driveway after I got home tonight.
12-14" at the top. Almost 2 feet near the bottom.
It's a lot steeper than it looks.
Yes, I needed a running start. :P
It was plowed 24 hours ago.
It's still snowing.

Got my snow tires on today!
Changed the oil with 5w40 and an O.E. filter.
Unlocked the radio.
topped off the transmission fluid.
Accomplishing day. :)
Image

So...How much snow does it take to get a Snow tire'd Quattro stuck in the snow?
So much I had to get out through the window...
Image

Funniest part is, I wasn't stuck until I stopped for traffic trying to back out again....
My driveway=Quattro required.

Awesome. Great Progress too.

I beasted my snipped-wire '89 200 out of a 4' snow drift in 2011, our buddy that ended up coming to plow in his diesel F250 was thoroughly impressed.

Due to the recent absurd heavy snow, Some of my lower door trim and the lower half of my front bumper are now gone. :(
Good thing black is the most common color..
Also, the car has been falling on it's face when I get off the throttle rather frequently. I suspected the bypass valve and verified when I found it wouldn't hold any vacuum. It does still pull plenty hard as long as I keep my foot down.
I've also had issues with not getting good heat from the HVAC. It gets warm, but never hot. both heater hoses are getting plenty warm, and the car doesn't seem to have any issues with engine temp, so I may be looking at a blend door issue.

Now I just need more money to throw at this...

Isn't the trim the same for both sides? It's the rubber strips on the bottom of the doors. They seem very susceptible to getting ripped off in deep, heavy snow.
Also looking for a good black s4/s6 bumper. :)

the trim is not reversible if that is what you mean. I sold the rubber door trims already.

I do have a red front bumper, but you could easily paint it black i am sure.

So...I put $10 in gas in the S6 yesterday. It's gone in 17 miles....
Did the math. 6.8mpg. Even for heavy footed winter city driving, that's crap.
Really?
Why?
I should pull the plugs and check for some leaking injectors..

What I assume is the oil pressure sensor circled in this picture began puking oil on me tonight..
My dad saw a puddle of oil in the snow where I was parked and I was like "My car doesn't leak dirty oil. Derpa derpadirk"
Looked under my car to see a steady drip of oil off the side of my oil pan with a hand sized puddle in the snow...
More stuff to fix..
At least I caught it before I went low and caused any internal damage, I guess... :(

Yeah those oil pressure switches are known to fail like that. Make sure you get the correct one for the S6 pn#068919081D

It just failed...so suddenly. No oil puddles in my parking spot in the driveway to gushing like that?
I'll cross-reference the part number to VW at work tomorrow. Maybe I'll luck out and it will be in stock. ;)

Got my bypass valve swapped with a new one and replaced my thermostat tonight.
No more falling on it's face between shifts and hopefully it will hold temp better.
Still has some misfires..Likely needs some 2.0fsi coils. ;)
