Check Hagerty.com for an actual value policy.

Hagerty.com is too expensive and requires 30k or more of coverage.

x2 haggerty really isn't that bad... having dealt with them in a loss situation (im an auto body estimator) when it comes time to repair, they do not care what it takes to fix it. called in a supplement to them on a 392 challenger special edition and they didn't even want a dollar amount, just said fix it. awesome to work with.

Hagarty $1377/year for $30k coverage and they will not do any less.....so, yeah. Maybe I need to talk to someone instead of the online calculator.
state farm was talking $138/year or maybe 6 mos but cheap.

My Hagerty for that same coverage is only 800 a year. I have 3 cars insured with Hagerty.

I got a quote from Hagerty for the URQ($20,000 coverage) and they said ~$750 annually, my policy from Statefarm is ~$350. Only issue is I am having the same problem as PKW. I went through all of the URQ sales and supplied them with all of the information I could, all of which pointed to the fact that my car was worth $20,000 at least and they valued the car at $14,500 and said if I truly thought it was worth more I need a professional appraisal. I am going to have an appraisal done in the summer and I was told that if they do bump the coverage to $20,000 it wont effect my premium.

$8k agreed value (modified car status) from Grundy is $145/yr for me.

Just did a quote for the UrQ at $20k:
$183/yr for a stock car
$303/yr for a modified car

Out of curiosity... those numbers you guys are quoting, are they just for fire/theft/vandalism coverage? Or are they for everything, including liability, medical payments, etc.?

Also getting a modded car appraised... who would you have do that? There are a lot of insurance appraisers around, and a lot of people who know about modding Audis, but how many people know both?

My Statefarm policy has everything covered.

Honestly have no idea about the appraisal haha. I made this same case to my insurance agent and he told me that "a professional appraiser should have no problem even if the car is rare because they will just look at the market and how your car compares". I think that is a load of bull and I am basically going to have to bring as much information to the appraiser as I can and do his job for him haha. If this turns into a complete cluster fuck I will just end up with Hagerty or grundy but like I said Statefarm was the cheapest by a good margin and they had the best coverage/terms. The ease of having my daily and collector on the same bill is also nice.

pow: you need to check your numbers - in due part to my work as a volunteer for (former director for local Audi Club chapter) and having two teenagers, I decided to get an umbrella liability policy - which meant I had to increase my home owners AND auto coverage.- and still my Hagerty cost is well below yours.

The cost I listed is for everything, except my medical. I am covered through my Med Ins, so I choose not to be covered by medical on Auto Ins.

In previous accidents, not for any of the cars I have covered with Hagerty, I always had to fight with the appraisers, to get any more than their first price. I always ended up getting a few dollars more, but always had to fight for it. They also like to use high mileage as a way to drop your appraisal. Doesn't matter if you have rebuilt the whole car, or how good of shape it was in, they drop the appraisals due to mileage. Our cars are getting to be high mileage, just a fact because of the age. Also, a little hard to tell what shape the car was in after a wreck.

I have AAA for my insurance on my dailies. Not that with being retired, I really have dailies. After I had work done by 2B, on my coupe, back in 2001, I went to AAA with all my receipts and tried to get an Agreed to Value on the car. I could never pin them down to a figure, and it bothered me because of previous payoffs for accidents, I knew they way they worked. So a couple of years later, after I had updated the car some more, I went to Hagerty and got my agreed to price. At the time Grundy did class my car as old enough to get insurance through them. Hagerty and I agreed to a value and no problem. Another reason I went to them, was, I already had my 914 insured with them.

Now, last year, I wanted to insure my 90 VW Fox Avant with AAA. It was non-operational and had been stored for a while. I wanted insurance on it because with doing work on it, it would by moved around, trailered, etc. AAA would not give me just PL&PD, I had to have all the same coverage as the rest of my vehicles. You know collision, comprehensive, etc. I couldn't even insure the car for a lesser amount on the Collision, Comprehensive, etc. It had to be a the same $100,000/$300,000 as the rest of my cars. So I called Hagerty, we agreed to a value of $4000 and I got just the PL&PD, for a $100. AAA would have been $395 and the value placed on the car was less than $1500.

Regular insurance companies, like to use that term "Actual Cash Value", in the area for Physical Damage to the car. That term is highly debatable when it comes to replacing the car.
