2142 (Blink Fault Code), 00524 VAG1551/2 Fault Code Number
Knock sensor #1 (G61)
Open or short circuit, Defective sensor Check sensor and wiring
Symptom: Timing retarded, High fuel consumption, power loss, Boost pressure not attained
Yesterday was on the highway cruising at 55mph. AC on full blast (LO)
briefly caught a glimpse of the CEL before it went away
checked when I got home, 2142. No other codes
Car was running fine.
Any reason why I saw that?
It's super hot and muggy out... maybe a lil ping?
Saw it again tonight
I was stuck in traffic for 15 minutes, crawling in 1st. NO AC this time.
traffic finally cleared, doing about 55mph up a hill in 5th gear... car felt like it was bogging bad, then I saw the CEL illuminate.
I cleared the hill and it was fine... even got on it hard in 3rd a few minutes later with no issues or lights...
it seems to be under load around 2500rpms when it's bogging.
I'm gonna dump some octane booster in tomorrow and some fuel injector cleaner.

Today I had a full tank of Hess 93.
So, the grade of fuel isn't the issue.
Both days were unusually humid and hot at night (850p yesterday, 830p today)
