Stock boost is between 12 - 14 psi... One issue with changing boost via the spring is a lack of calculated fuel.

how can i turn it up???
i read where you can take the wastegate cap of and turn some kind of screw but i dont wanna mess anything up
Yeah you can tweak it a little but if you go too much I think it will overeboost and fuel cut? To take the dime size cap off; drill a small hole in that and pick it out with something. I used a pick, some have use a screw, etc. then you can turn the allen bolt, again you can find more info w/pics google search, etc. I have a TAP chip and it was going to 16-18ish, I turned the WG a bunch of turns and now it will go to 19/20psi so not a huge difference. I don't have the spring(not sure if you need one or not for this chip), but you should check to see what yours is and if you need one with that chip. IIRC you don't need a spring with the stg 1 chips, don't quote me tho.

It's pretty easy to get the wastegate cover off, six 8mm nuts, to determine what spring you have. Make sure you spray the nuts down with PB Blaster first to make sure you get them loose. The nuts should come off with a 1/4-inch drive ratchet/socket.

If the spring has yellow paint it is a 1.9-BAR spring. If it is marked with red paint it is a 2.2-BAR spring. You shouldn't be running anything more than a 1.9-BAR spring with the stock turbo.

I'm not sure about the MTM products. We sell a Stage 1 chip that does not require the spring. Then we also sell a Stage 1+ setup that uses a new WG spring along with a 3-BAR V-MAP and upgraded injectors.

have to open it and see which spring
if its the stock spring would it be a good idea to replace it with the 1.9bar spring
what other things should i upgrade if i do the spring upgrade
i already have samco hoses
stock airbox
and thinking about installing a front mount this coming weekend

In regards to the spring, I can't say what will work with the MTM chip as I have no experience with it.

As for the front-mount intercooler, that is a great upgrade that just about every turbo-car can benefit from. You should also seriously consider purchasing a phenolic spacer to sit in between the cylinder head and intake manifold. That combined with a front-mount intercooler will greatly reduce the intake temperatures and allow you to drive the car harder, longer. A link for the phenolic intake spacer is below.

A turbo-back exhaust will also do wonders for spool-up and responsiveness. Link below. It will also sound a lot better. :)

Let me know when you are ready to order the spacer as I can set you up...

The only other mod you can do to get more air is get a cold-air-intake, but that won't give you huge increases until you install a larger turbo. It will however make your diverter-valve sound like a blow-off valve, so that's cool. :)

well i read you can turn it 6 times clockwise
how many time did you turn yours
I *think* I turned it 8 times but then turned it back to 6 because there was no difference.

Sooooooo the spring with the yellow paint is NOT the stock spring?

The one on the left came out of my car this afternoon, the one on the right has yellow paint on it that you can barely see in the pic but you can see it has thicker coils and is shorter. So this is a 1.9 bar spring??
