i dont think there is much available to increase power in the v6 90 without major modifications. Not sure what is out there for chips, i imaging you could squeeze a little more out of it with a chip, but its not going to be much, unfortunately. I think money would be better spend on suspension for a v6 car.

Yeah, BMW forums tend to suck.

The newer cars are all rich people talking about which over priced mod to buy next or how to figure out stuff they could get answers for from their manual.

The older car forums are better but there seems to be a lot of punk kids doing questionable things to their cars.

Old audi's are old audi's... they aren't a faux status symbol like many think their 10 year old BMW is, and some models are somewhat rare compared to other marquees of the time period, so people kind of have to seek them out, usually for the right reasons.

I was on the "dark side" for a while and since picking up another 200, I have spent most my online forum time here... I don't miss bimmerforums. lol.

The best 12v V6 upgrade is the port and polish procedure on the intake manifold and heads. Also make sure you have the bigger MAF (which you should if you have a 95)
Audi did a really bad job with the casting of the heads where the intake manifold hits the heads. as a result, the injectors tend to spray against the wall of the heads instead of into the cylinders.
The intake manifold is just rough - you can sand it out a little to get air flowing better. The head porting has been the biggest change as far as my cars are concerned.

There is an 034 Chip but you need the early 93 ECU and it gets minimal gains. I've never tried or seen it.

the audiworld.com 12v forum is highly informative. No one is there anymore but there is a bunch of info in the archives.

by far and wide the best mod you can do for power is the porting of the intake to the heads, along with a throttle body bore and a strong tune up and calibration of the maf, and make absolutely certain that the intake manifold flaps are moving, working, and they actually change over at high rpm.

make absolutely sure your cam timing is bang on or 2 degrees retarded slightly. most people like to do the timing belt job without the factory tools and that means the cams are questionably timed.

You have a 95 making it an AFC engine not an AAH. Meaning you have better flowing heads but milder cams.

drop in the AAH cams and you gain alittle.

Like everyone said you are not going to gain much. by far and wide you might get 10 maybe 15 hp maximum if you are totally lucky. but the best thing you will get out of this is bringing the rest of the power band and torque to the way it should be.

anything else is going to cost you or require real hands on work and brains (not saying you are stupid, but you sound like a hands off kind of guy if you are having a mechanic do the work).
Easiest horsepower? rear mount turbo and stand alone EFI or piggyback.
best way to drop jaws? Drop a 4.2 v8 in there and call it a day.

I agree totally with you Justin517 on the beemer boards. Most are running on pure ego. Grillage and the_natrix, So the way to go would be porting, polishing and ccing the heads. I use to be hands on, but blew out capri ulnar extensor tendon on left wrist and then crashed and burned, actually fell and crushed both ulna and radii on right arm at wrist and blew out rotator cuff right arm. My wings don't work like everybody else's any more, I don't mind using the shops. One of them I have their liability insurance coverage. The other I've known 40+yrs. He works basically on muscle cars, older Chevys', Fords. I get a steep discount, but he does the jobs at his convenience.
Thanks all again. I will update , enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday and be safe

Depends on how far you want to go (as with everything)

You dont really have to go much further than a port matching between the manifold and the heads as it is incredibly bad from the factory.

the throttle body boring really only helps a bit everywhere but does remove some slight lag from throttle response.

If it were me and I just wanted something simple. Id port match the heads and intake, do the throttle body, and install the earlier V6 cams, making well sure they were timed correctly.

after that the only simple things to do are an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and adjustable maf.

pretty much right there would be a nice setup.
Get a nice high flow exhaust and call it a day.

It is definitely a fun little car (b4) with good tires and a tight suspension, like you said basically a go cart.

My brother has a 95 90q, and I believe it is a combo of the better heads and cam (danforths on here built it after the motor blew up), along with a 3 angle valve job?

My brother regularly embarrasses Civic Sis.

Eric :)
