034 1C questions:
How can you tell the difference between a 1A, 1B an 1C? is there any difference on the circuit board?
Also, there is a transistor in the "Q8" position that has it's legs cut off and what looks like a brand or burned hole in it to disable it... what does/did it do??
What is "J7" and the multi jumper "J4" for?? It looks like J2 and 3 are for hall or VR input.
BTW, this is on a "REV[A]" board.

Thanks!

usually it's inscribed into the bottom of the wire connector socket

Hmmm... didn't know it was there.....It's hard to read, it has a number that's scratched out (1810?) then a "2" then what looks like "C4" then "C" and finally "VR"

So I can't use the hall sender as a tach source? or it just requires a change in the jumpers?
you can change the jumpers there are 2. You need to clean the pins, there is a coating that could prevent connection. and a setting in the software.
What you really should do is send it in to 034 and get it fixed. The repair shouldn't be very expensive.

No, only as a cam sync, a multi-tooth indexed wheel on the crank must be used for the C level firmwares.
