As the title states (and further to my intro post in Projects), I am restoring a low mileage Canadian spec 1980 Audi 5000 turbo.

I need to replace the turbocharger and would like to have one that spools up faster. In a perfect world it would be mostly bolt-in, although I’m happy to use an adapter plate of sorts, and will for sure we fabricating a new downpipe with high-flow cat. If at all possible to have a. Internal wastegate, that’d be great too!

A lot to ask…but curious if anyone has experience with replacing/upgrading the turbo in a typ43 c2.
