Cabrio
Have you tried that?
i think Dave said it once that the cabriolets and coupes are different

part numbers are different, but itr doesnt mean much: 8G0845099P cabriolet and 895845099P coupe
i have always read the B4 Cabrio door glass and mechanicals and windshield were the same.

not that i know for certain on the windshield.... but its what i thought was correct.
Im sure Dave will correct us on this.

The early cabriolet mechanicals are the same as the coupe, by part number.
On the late cabriolet the regulater frame is almost identical, but one bolt wont line up. you can bend the frame or skip that bolt.
I took a picture when i did it, but i cant find it.

I think the only way to really know is try.

I think research is a smarter way, since many ppl already try it.
I wouldnt buy a $300 cabriolet windshield for my cq just for try. The information is out there, most likely on german or english forums.
The coupe windshield is unique. Cabrio does not fit. As far as regulators go yes the later cabrios are different but do work on the coups, all but one bolt lines up but a small spacer can fix that problem
the side window glass is definitely different. it slopes downhill slightly at the back corners of the cabriolet whereas it is flat across the top of the coupe glass.
well i am dumber today than ever.

i will just keep quiet from now on.

i got one part right though.... the regulators :)

:?
ok gotya. anyone know a good place to get a CQ windshield then

:p

you need to verify the quote.
Over the past 5 years, there have been periods when it was near impossible to source a Coupe windshield, when I've called glass companies who said that they had them in stock, but when they went to verify, none were available.

Last time the dealer had them at a good price ~$250, I bought two and stored them.

Thats true.
However i called this company when Dave had his windshield installed, just for price testing. It was like a 4-5 months ago.
They told me a similar price.
The windshield frame of the cabrio is heavier than the CQ, so between that and the top corners that are rounded vs pointed makes the Cabrio glass not work with the CQ. The door glass early Cab vs CQ is the same from what I remember of when my CQ was next to my sister's Cab.
