The 044 does make some noise, but that how you know it's working haha. Anyways, if you can find an inline pump rated to your expected HP output, then you can use it. You just need one with the correct fittings for either end.

The light output comment was over the DOT headlights.
Oh for sure. OEM DOT headlights are certainly trash.

I'll keep researching fuel pumps. I really don't expect hp to get above 250ish... Not planning on replacing the stock turbo or anything

Got the new Hella H4's installed. What a huge difference from the Depo's. I'd 100% recommend getting the real stuff every time. The difference is insane.

As always, one step forward, 3 steps back though.

My wipers stopped working completely. We tested the switches at the stock and I think they are okay, we were trying to test the motor and relay but blew the fuse. The relay just will NOT come out. the cover comes off, but the relay won't unstick. I want to find a replacement relay before I try to pry it out.

My brakes have, now for the second time, seized up on the rotors. It happens after standing on brakes in traffic for a while, and they just won't loosen up until I start driving without using them for a bit. They drag and will not release.

Also, my fuel pump is about to die. Making a ton of noise and getting stuttering/chugging on acceleration.

My mechanic is supposed to do heater core, new dash, and hopefully swap the fuel pump this week.

Lights look good! Maybe the calipers need to be rebuilt? I can't imagine what a mechanic charges to do the heater core.
Yea... I honestly would take way too long for it to be worth trying myself.. I'd rather pay him what he'll cost than try to figure it out myself. It would take a month haha.

He thinks the brakes are maybe the master cylinder. I will take the brakes apart in the next few weekends and just regrease the sliders and stuff. see how they are doing. Maybe they're just jammed up.

Really confused on the wipers. Maybe the motor went?

Got the headlights aimed and dialed in mostly. They look so good. Very modern and about as nice as headlights get. Really impressed. My mechanic was able to do the heater core and get a (somewhat) better shape dashboard in. Probably still want to try to find a pristine dashboard at some point, but for now this one at least has a vent!

Now I'm dealing with fueling issues. My fuel pump had started making a lot of noise, and I was getting chugging/lunging during heavier throttle. We threw in an older fuel pump we had lying around and it got worse. Now any full throttle and the car bucks and chunks. So I got a new filter and pump and we just threw them on. We haven't driven it far yet, because the new fuel pump was already starting to make a little bit of noise, and so we want to empty the tank, replace the line from the tank to the pump, and make sure there isn't crap getting lodged in there.

Any suggestion on what else might be going on? We checked all the intake stuff, hoses seem locked in right. Wondering if something like injectors or spark might be at fault? But it feels like the car, under heavier throttle, just suddenly cuts and lunges like it chokes. I THINK it's just the fueling, but we're trying to figure it out.

Did your mechanic recover the air box flaps while he had the dash off?

Not certain what those are - but we saved the rest of the dash from the old dash and any extras we had. Need me to pull something? Or is that a possible fueling issue? haha

The flaps are what directs the airflow to the vents for the different modes. The one I circled in red comes from the factory with foam padding on both side, but that foam breaks down over time. It can be repaired by recovering with new foam padding, thus restoring the flap’s functionality.

The issue your having does sound like a fuel filter issue, to me.

Ah okay. Cool. As far as I know he did not.. but I didn't see it until the dash was back on. I will ask. Might be worth restoring if it really affects the airflow from the system.

It feels like fueling issues. I think we are going to have to pull the whole tank and find a way to clean it out... then run new lines. The car is still up at his shop.. I gotta go up there and try to check out the tank.

Still waiting on time with my mechanic to figure out pulling and cleaning the tank. Not sure when it's gonna happen sadly.

In the meantime.. this arrived today! Box is beat to hell, but should be fine, right?!

Nice, I'd like to switch over to those from my DIY coilovers, some day.
I'll let you know how they go.. might be a bit before I can get them in.

Can you take a picture of the markings on the main and helper springs? It looks like the main springs read 70-170. This leads me to believe they are 7" and 170#/in. If that is the case, that might explain why my DIY Cos ride pretty rough.

Looks like there are 60-170 and 70-170. Front and back differ.

So we finally got the tank pulled. It is really nasty in there. Took forever for the gas to trickle out the line, seems really clogged up. And inside.. it's just a rusty mess. Need to find a way to thoroughly clean this.

When you say it took forever for the gas to trickle out, were you using the fuel pump to pull it out of the tank or just gravity?
