2.7 Noise up front.. Timing Chain tensioner?

I just recently bought an Allroad needing a bit of love. One thing I'm working on trying to figure out is a noise coming from the front of the engine. Initially I thought it was the power steering pump and so I rebuilt it.. Nope that wasn't it. Next I removed the serpentine belt and ran it.. No noise.. so I'm thinking sweet.. It's either the tensioner or the clutch fan.. both feel a bit worn and so I pull the front and replace them.. While apart I checked the timing belt.. It all was just replaced and looks good..

Now I put the serpentine back on and fire it up.. Damn.. it's still making noise.. So no belt on = no noise, belt on = noise..

Next I put the stethoscope on the engine and it sounds like the sound it coming from the top of the left bank (driver's side). So I'm now wondering if it could be the timing chain tensioner? I'm scratching my head on this.. as I see how..

Any thoughts?

chain tensioners are not driven by the serpentine belt

That's what I was thinking... . Get a video of the chattering and it would help.
Does your AC work?
I'm fulling aware that the serpentine belt isn't driven by the cam sprockets. AC compressor feels fine as does the ALT. This is what has me baffled. I'm grabbing for something that's not common..

I'll take a video and record the sound
My guess would be the AC clutch.... but that's just me.
when you replaced the clutch fan was it the whole assembly or just the clutch part ( aluminum hub)?
It was the clutch bracket assembly.. Hummm.. wonder if it could be the actual assembly on the fan..
