4k/Early B3 sway bar link bushing washers

I bought some new sway bar links to put bars on my Coupe, but the OCAP kits I got didn't come with any washers. I'm pretty sure the washers are needed; any idea if flat ones would work well or should I really try to get the proper ones?

the cup is part of the design and is the way to go. without, I am sure it works for a while but will not hold up as well.

I used washer cups from generic energy kits and tossed the rest. they are a tad bit thicker (good) and fit perfectly
