hi guys,
so after trying to get rid of the coupe out of desperation for cash and unwillingness to put the time and effort into it, I have gotten a new found motivation and am going to finish her..
I owe that all to motorgeek....
:D
heres the car.....

since no one bought it, I am left with no other option but to hammer it our and enjoy what I had begun......now there is no more excuse for my wife, i gotta do what I got to do..... :woowoo:

I'm awaiting the aan harness and puter,
along with a need to purchase 034 throttle body adapter for their manifold to clear the stock powersteering pump location...........so I can use the stock serp belt setup....
I would like to go electric pump to clear the clutter, but I'm just doing necessities to get it running right now.....
the fun stuff can come down the road once I can prove to my wife that it is an actual car......

gotta buy also the intercooler pipe kit from 034....
I just hit up javad 2 days ago and haven't gotten a return mail, doesn't really seem like him......maybe the mail didn't go through or not...Javad?

got a aby s2 downpipe from josh, and i've got a muffler, so just need the middle pipe routed, (should be pretty easy and cheap)...
later gonna get the pretty 034 3in, but just doing essensials now....

got the dash out and the climate box in the downtime awaiting the harness........
Image

and since the dash is out i've got a black dash on its way to match the rest of the black interior....thanks RJ......

I started to work on the intercoolers to figure out which one to use and to see if I can salvage the endtanks since I'm on a budget.......
Image

chopped off the endtanks and trying to decide which one to use....
got a bit deep on one, but didn't hurt anything........
the tanks off the porsche gt2 intercooler will fit on the other one,
I'd like to use it because it will fill in the bumper a bit more visually, but the gt2 core looks a lot more quality........much wider also.......

any imput?
Image

since the aan fuel rail didn't fit with the manifold, I chopped off some brackets so it fits, with the fuel line unscrewed.......... don't worry, i'm gonna clean up all the cutting later..........

Image

Image

so can I just chop off the end and flip it over and reweld it so the line sits on the outside of the rail? also,
do I just weld tabs to the fuel rail to tap into the manifold?
Image

hope you all are down to help, I'm sure gonna need a good bit cuz Im definetly a novice with this car.....i've never touched it up until this point, but have come to be quite familiar since i've been addicted to motorgeek...........

thanks for the imput......

thanks would be the ultimate goal, but more realistic......
just no more :x , which causes me to go from :) to :frustrated: , and in the end it causes :curses:,
and putting me back :horse: ....
the viscious cycle.....I just hope the audi loves me back.......

any infos on the intercooler to use and the fuel rail?
thanks....

:woowoo: :woowoo: thata boy.

i'd use the bigger IC, got a welding shop around there that could weld it up for ya? maybe if you took off he IM and fuel rail and take it to them, they could probably make that fit with out much of a fuss.

of course if you can weld that disregard that lol, not sure if you've got a tig or not.

since I already have the aan rail, i'm just going to chop it and reweld and see what happens...I think the 3b rail has the fuel line attachment on the other side compared to the aan one, which would be nice, but i'm making due with what I can....no one has redflagged me, so I'm going for it........

I don't know which intercooler is the bigger one....
they are both 8 in tall, one core is 15 in long, the other is 12,
the shorter one is 3.2 in thick and the other is 2.8....
the thicker one has many intricate cooling paths while the other has a simple cooling channel.....
which one will cool better? I'm assuming the fatter one with all the paths, but not certain....

I just ran into some friends from highschool who I haven't seen in a long time, they got me into cars a long time ago and helped me build my first honda....
it turns out they just started a shop which is right down the road from my house, do all fab work and what not........ :)
since I don't weld, I got the hookup....... :woowoo:

in due time i'll be :drive:
a little ahead of myself.......

the longer one would look better...it would fill out the opening more....both will fit fine behind the bumper....
hmmm.....
Don't waist the time with AAN harness, you already have stage IIc, much easier and quicker to install better results, I spend 200$ on my intercoler. Glad to here you are not giving up. janis

Yah that's what i thought wen i build my car, i did spend 3 weekends in a snake nest with wiring diagrams,Even stock AAN ECU coast around 600-800$ + 750$ to chip my ECU, now car is up to speed but just not fast enough, I have 420hp at the flywheel, now im going IIc, got to redo all over again. I wish I started out with standalone. My time do cost $$. Hate to start everything over again. Janis

I'd like to do the IIc, but I just don't have the cash right now....
I supposedly have the aan harness and puter in a bin at the shop that was building the car, they said they are supposed to go through it this weekend because they just moved shops, so we'll see............
of course if that doestn't turn up, I'll have to pay for the upgrade from my IIa to IIc and buy the plug in harness....not a bad alternative, just costly at a time when I'm trying not to incur too much cost.....

are you running stock turbo and internals with that much power?
just curious to see what I can get on stock motor and turbo.....

looks good.....much bigger than the intercooler that I am gonna be using.......
I was thinking to cut into the front crossmember and have the intercooler sit in it...but I guess it will fit fine in front like yours.....

Nothing is stock :), im just saying you will spend a lot more in a future if you will use S4 stuff, im trying to sell everything what I have right now, to to get IIC, Motronics is very limited tuning vise

#20 ·
I will enjoy the regrets if the time comes when I need the IIc.....I'lll probably keep the IIa instead of selling it for the future possibilities........
gonna be pretty stock for a while....but at least i'll be :drive:
I love that emoticon....

I just got a s2 rear bumper through ebay uk for 10 pounds........
too bad its 89 to ship it.......hopefully my only splurge with this basic build......
the rear bumper always bugged me so I had to do it.....
