Any Interest in a Short Ratio Rack? - More

We've been testing a short ratio steering rack that will fit any 4kq/80/90/Coupe, etc, instead of about 3.5 turns lock to lock, it has about 2.5 turns, the result is a rack and steering response that feel more like an EVO than an Audi, any interest?

We can produce more, the cost is $800 each, lead time is 2-weeks, no core required.

Please let me know privately if you like, its not cheap, but there is nothing out there like it, and frankly its not cheap to produce either, but the result is quite marvelous.

Thanks,

any warranty? is it beefier than the standard piece?
Sure, we can warranty it for a period of time, all wear pieces are replaced, should be good for another 100k miles or so. I wouldn't say its any beefier than a stock rack, but not like it would need to be, they seem to old up just fine for hundreds of thousands of miles.

100k miles warranty sounds nice. If it is available at per order with no time constraint I can afford one late summer.
Errr, no :p , there will be no 100k mile warranty on ANY product we sell  , that's pretty rediculous, I'm thinking something more like 3-6 months for "manufacturing defects" which is an industry standard style warranty. There is nothing changed about the rack to make it more or less reliable than a stock rack, and my point is that a stock rack is very reliable.

FWIW, we've had one on Christian's car for 6 months, about 6-8 track days of abuse, etc.

When Iam back I will get one if it is available then, and then I will be poor :bashtard:

seriously it is a super idea and I want it but do not need. And then the addiction kicks in and I buy it :tard:

Very interesting!! This rack I take it will run on standard power steering fluid or ATF?
Yup, same fluid as used by stock.
Well stock in the coupe is hydraulic mineral oil?
I'm gonna use a MR2 pump so I'm interested in it working on standard power steering fluid or ATF.
