On my slow 200 20v avant restoration, I need both side rocker panels as mine are rusted through at all jack points. The metal underneath appears salvageable.

There is a rust-free 5000 at a Pick-n-Pull(other stuff like gas tank are already gonešŸ˜£); however, they strictly prohibit "body saws, grinders, etc." and I was already caught trying to sneak one in.

Has anyone else replaced rocker panels?
Anyone have any insight into how to do this with only hand tools? Besides the easily visible spot welds, any other tips?

Been rusted for 5+ years now, I live in the Arkansas and old Audis are like hens teeth around here.

Thanks.

No direct experience, but you may want to just talk to the management at the PnP. Tell them what you are after and ask them what it would take to make that happen. Money talks. They are probably worried about people causing hazardous structural damage with saws and such.

They may sell you the whole shell if you ask politely. You would then be stuck with the carcass and figuring out how to dispose of it.
