I have a diesel Caddy that I wanna swap a newer TDI into it. I was wondering which is the best for the price you'd pay. Also which one's make the best power and get the best mileage. Also what kinda mounts I's need and if I need cost ones some someone. Any info is welcome so post up some stuff!!!

Not sure about mounts but an ALH or ahu is your best bet. Vnt turbo (alh), huge amount of potential upgrade paths, huge amount of customer support and a great forum (TDIClub). Parts and even engines are readily available and they're pretty robust engines. My .02

What years did the ALH come in?
MK4 up to 04...after that you're looking at the BEW PD engine or the 16v that came out with the MK5-6s...

AHUs are stupid cheap and easy to find due to MK3 availability...you'll be stuck with the intermediate shaft but if you don't care you can get away with the same engine for much cheaper...ALH are still up there in price - seems people think they're made of gold lol...power output and options are just about the same from both
Alh is the best imo, mine puts down 180 hp 300 ftlbs, it is in a mkii. 98-03 in the us, pd is a good choice as well milage is not as good but you can get to 300hp cheaper...
If people ask top dollar for the ALH what kinda price would that bee? Also what would be a good price one the AHU?
You can get an entire swap for around $2000 with trans ecu and cluster for the alh. Ahu you could do a little better.

Would it be better if I picked up a wrecked car?
