I'm trying to understand how the master cylinder works... so educate me here...

Are the four lines isolated from each other? I mean, if a 'soft' line (let's say rear passenger) busts...

Do you still have the other three calipers?

Or, assuming one large piston in the cylinder; do you lose a pair but maintain the other? Or all four?

And then you can only brake via cable/e-brake?

I've dealt with two clutch issues in the past month and I've been thinking about hydraulic systems in general..

Well, that was easy... thanks!

True to form, I was totally over-thinking it.
