Well...

Here I come again. My "new" (to me) laptop does not have an usable serial port. Please don't ask me why.

So, I got a cable the uses the USB and convert to serial. All great, it installed, but to a fixed COM3.

Is there a way to change it to COM1 or 2?

Is it possible to change the software to accept COM3? (perhaps replacing one of the COM's)

Thanks from your PC challenge friend,

Carlos.

This is easy on XP, but I do not have this luxury.

I have ME is my "new" and "improved" machine.

Apparently I have to do it at the BIOS Setup.

Are you using the software on COM4?

Thanks,

Carlos

yeah, i think mine is on com 4, so if you wanna cruise on over here to oregon, i could give you a hook up to the computer, but my tuning skills aren't that developed :p , so you might have to then continue down to central california to see javad
