The flange on the downpipe to the front of the cat is shot on my 87 5000Q NA. It is a four bolt, can't find a repair kit to replace the flange. They make a nice two piece kit to replace a three bolt flange, but after searching the web and local muffler shops could not find anything. Do I need to cut the flange off the cat and weld on a 3 bolt one?

you can get a Chinese mild steel vband for like 25 bucks and be done with that shitty flange setup for good

Austin you are amazing. But I think it will be easier to just have a shop cut the 4 bolt flange off and weld on a 3 bolt. Then I can get the split flange repair kit and be back on the road.
I will hit up a muffler shop on the way t work tomorrow.
