I want to shorten the metal Fuel Lines in the engine compartment that go to the Fuel Pump and tank.
And I want to know if a tubing flaring tool will work or are the lines to thick to use that tool?
Or are there metric compression fittings that will work better?

With the right bubble flair tool it is no problem to make your own lines, shorten existing ones, or whatever you need to do. I got a set years ago and have used it many times from brake line and fuel lines. If you are going to be working on old European car much at all, it is a good thing to have.
