getting a non starting car on a trailer

In my haste to move out of my apartment I'm stuck with a non starting project car that I need to get on a trailer. Any ideas on how best to do this? How many people would it take to push it onto the trailer? Can I use the starter and feather the clutch to get it up there?

Go to harbor freight and buy a cable winch puller?

Maybe buy a cheap 2000lb winch?
Get a tow strap and pull it on with a second vehicle parallel to the truck and trailer.
Or put it in gear listen to the starter cry.
Thanks guys, I have a cable wench puller back at home. Sounds like the appropriate solution.
I've pushed them, used the starter, used another car to pull them, and have a come-along. Come-along is what I use most of the time and is the easiest/safest. It takes several positions to pull it up onto a trailer though.
put it in gear, use the starter. Sounds horrible, works fine. Got to have a good battery.
Surely a come along is to be had? All else fails it sure is nice an audi will crank in while in gear!

crude but works if its all you can do.
Winch or come-along, best way to do it...
