It's a very slow moving project due to family problems and college (read: no money). Bought the car about a year and a half ago, had the timing belt/waterpump and all that jazz as well as a set of plugs, wires, cap and rotor at the beginning of this summer. Installed a Ben Swann 2+Bar chip, 1.8bar wastegate spring as well as made the wastegate adjustable. Added a bypass valve and boost gauge. I have the larger single-pass IC sitting in my backseat, as well as a new front right quarterpanel. I have a k24 in my trunk ready to put on also. Just need the time... Oh and I added a set of Hella 500's.

Goals:
EFI (Megasquirt most likely. Reason: 1/4 the price of 034. May go to 034 in the future...)
Some sort of suspension, prefer lowered (maybe lowering springs, maybe coilovers)
Headlights (found some projector lights on ebay... may jump on them.
V8 hood
200/V8 trunk lid
Repaint (probably pearl black)

I think that's it...

Oh yeah, PICS!

Kool, good to hear about the k24. My project is going to be near exactly the same. 87 5ktq doing a v8 hood and s4 seats and k24 and chip. Picking the car and parts up in two weeks.. miss those old things.

Small update, got the trunk lid I want, have the lights to go in but it needs repainted and I need the lock cylinder that goes in the taillight. I have my 100 Euros in the mail, thanks to Kuma.

Plans for the car in the near future:

-Repaint black (love pearl white, but it's expensive)
-EFI, still need the fuel rail, injectors, etc. Buy some parts to fund that!
-Get my new wheels on. Need a matching set of tires for the set to be able to mount them.

Should I go matte black or gloss?

Alright, guys. Motivation is running low. Having lots of trouble getting the throttle body to fit with the rail. Wiring is going to be a b*tch (I guess not TOO bad). I have to change the clutch master still. I have to get the turbo relocation/adapter finished. I know there's a flywheel pin sensor and a ring gear sensor. If I pull the ring gear sensor, can I use it to count teeth on my 60-2 wheel? Everything else is in line. I wish I had bought the MS case, but I made one myself. I wish I had someone here to help me wrap this all up, but it looks like I may be taking yet another week and MAYBE getting it done...

Some eye-candy...

I need an IM spacer... but it's not on the list of affordables right now. I've been down 1.5 months now. I may just wait until I get paid and get the spacer, but is just seems so expensive. If I could get a .dwf of the IM pattern, I could have one water-jetted but it seems like nobody is giving out anything of that sort.

These coils are off the AEB code 1.8t and the 2.7t's also I believe. 3-wire coils.

dude, you're almost there!
Motivation low!? can you imagine how sweet it's going to be when it's finished!?
get to it!

Do you badly need a spacer for it all to fit? it's already back together, but if you had one would you take it apart to get the spacer on there?

It's not already back together, just held on for spacing checking. It really does need the spacer to get the throttle body back on though. It's $55... Once I get paid and pay the IRS (money-mongers) then I'll get it and finish assembly. For now, I can test fire once I get it wired up and get my 60-2 wheel here. Should be Monday on the wheel.

Last and you easiest but not best option are the H&R springs (they are made in China and the metal quality is good but not as good as the previous listed springs). They have this plastic cover at the end of the springs; cut this off, water gets underneath and rots the spring until the point where the spring blows out/breaks. As long as you cut the plastic cover off the H&Rs will last you many long years. (they are sold/listed under 5000CS Turbo quattro, 5ktq, etc)
the comment about H&R springs being made in china was pretty funny.

"All H&R products are 100% made in Germany and exceed ISO quality assurance standards."

I'm going through the same thing, so I hear ya. Parents just potentially sold the house last night too! I can't wait to have my own awesome life where I depend on noone but myself.

Well, I got a V8 to daily so no more push to get the 5k done... Now I've decided I'm going to build a ghetto 20vt motor and put it in. I have a bottom end already (fo FREEEEEEE), just need a head, IM, EM (lol ebay here I come... FINALLY) and other random little parts. Check out my FS thread if you have any of this stuff for sale and would like to trade.

BTW Chris, nice new sig pic :D

Hey my car has come a long way. I'm getting the engine ready to go in now. I just need my crank sensor to get here, then the trans is getting bolted up and the engine can go in the car. From there, the plan is to get everything ready for the ECU (going VEMS now). If I sell my V8, this will all be a faster process...

A few quick questions...

What is the typical engine mount solution?

What are the sensors on the driver's side of the engine?

Does anyone have some banjo bolts for the 3B fuel rail lines?
