Minimizing underbody rust

709 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  scottmandu
Is there a way to minimize or reduce underbody rust on a car that is driven during the winter on salt-treated roads other than not driving it? Do you use a coating that can be applied to suspension and other exposed metal surfaces to prevent them from rusting? Thanks for any input you might have!

Most of my suspension was coated with what looks to be white lithium grease. I have very little corrosion on anything under my car.

spray it with some cheap thick oil. works for old farmers.
Spray it with used motor oil then drive down a dirt/dusty road. note not for environmentalists...
