Hello all!
Traded my yota for a 1990 80 quattro
Just gotta get it runnin right...
Lost.
So heres the problem:
Dude sez it needs sparkplug wires n itl run great.
But im concerned thst there may be more.
What are some common trouble spots on the 20Vs?
Ive gone thru and found a vacuum hose from crankcase breather tube to intake mani disconnected fixed it and i think the plugs for the maf and tps were swapped accidentally...
Black plug to maf greyish plug to tps or vice versa?
Otherwise in great shape all around.
Ive done a lil research but have yet to locate an online service manual so that would be a huge help right there.
Any suggestions on soarkplug wires or should i jus get oe bosch?
Already bought oe bosch coppers but i wanna spend my hard to come by money right the first time ha.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and or flame :D

too much info to post because it would be a book. If you fill out your location, someone will maybe offer to swing by and check it out for you. I know that I will if you are close. Diagnosing issues over the interweb is almost a total waste, unlike in person, where you have a shot of pegging it.

Then it's probably a 90 quattro, I don't think any 80s had the 7a motor.

It probably will be both for a while... but once it's running right you'll understand why we all put up with it. Just keep in mind it's a fairly complicated (for its day) 23yr old car. My 1990 90Q 20V was a mess when I got it (though I only paid $800), these days it's a blast to drive. Only took ~2 years of tinkering with it...

Ha im quite familiar with money hungry cars-
I had 3 toyota celica alltracs b4 this lil monster and they are the reason i wobt own anything fwd or automatic.
Ive learned if you want a REAL car it costs a lot more than just a buncha money...
Blood sweat frustration and persistence drives the enthusiest to mold a car to his liking.
All of the alltracs have my dna in and out haha.
The challenge is welcomed in my book!
