So I just picked up this 88 90 quattro that will hopefully be the recipient of my AAN. I'll set up a proper project thread once I have some time to make some progress.
Seems like there's quite a bit of info for swapping AAN into a 7a chassis, but not a whole lot for NG, so I have some questions.
First, wiring. From what I've read when swapping into a cq the AAN harness can be spliced with the 7a but seems like I'll have to swap an entire harness into the 88 chassis. Anyone have any BTDT advice for this?
Also was wondering about accessories. I know people will either use the AAN accessories to keep the serpentine belt or swap to 7a accessories to use the v belt setup, but I have neither so I'm thinking I should try to keep the b3 P/S pump, get a 7a or 3b alternator and crank pulley and call it good.
The only other thing I'm unclear on is all suspension related, but it sounds like if I want to do suspension work the thing to do is get two piece struts, a rear sway bar and go from there.
Also wanted to say a big thanks to Draky for providing this chassis, I've been looking for a small chassis car for my AAN for quite some time.
