What car is this for? I'm guessing 20vt?
TAP chip question, need help!
Hey guys I picked up a second hand ECU with a TAP chip set. The engine runs like shit on boost, and I was wondering about the map sensor. It wants to boost up to at least 20psi, but the ECU still has the stock 2bar map! Is that why is runs so shitty on boost? It's barely driveable. Since TAP is out of business, I was hoping someone here has had some experience with them? Do I need a biffer map sensor?

(only having the boost turned up and nothing else changed) others are copies of good chips. Don't know what you got unless you post a pic of the chips. Of course this doesn't mean you don't have a boost leak or something else going on causing it to not run right. Assuming this on a 200 20v since you mention the 2bar PT?
Yeah sorry it's a 3b. I want to say the chips said 262 and 460? I'll double check later. Pretty sure no boost leaks. But can a 2bar map ever handle that much boost?
Describe shitty? Could it be your N75 or wastegate?
misses, backfires, acts like the timing is way off. If i drive it off boost though it seems alright.
I take it that your stock ECU runs fine?

Well you should probably get one or at least some stock chips to replace the crap that's in there now.

Yeah I'd say pick up a stock ECU and see if your car still runs the same way and go from there.
I've got a few sets of stock chips sitting around collecting dust.......................
I've be pretty damn grateful for some stock chips... How much to ship to Omaha, ne??
I wonder also if the ECU in general is functioning properly. I think Randy (audidrums) has his ECU go out and made it run bad in boost.
Hard to say if it ever worked, I've never ran anything on this ecu and the previous owner didnt know anything about it. it's also on an engine swap into an 80q... So there's possibly something i screwed up. But the 2bar map sensor really threw me for a loop. I was hoping someone had experience with them
