My K27 7200 coldside with clipped K26 #6 hotside gets full boost by 3200-3500rpm.

Elijah
PS- I am looking for a K26 #8 hotside housing, if anyone knows where I can find one please let me know.

(Think Audisport S1) Bigger than the Porsche 7200.
what size is the imsa charger?
Don't know about that one.
It likely a big K27 hotside with K29 compressor similar to the S1 and pike's peak cars. The IMSA was all road racing so it was a HUGE turbo. If there is anything about that turbo that is off is the smallish hotside exducer diameter which is a restriction. The smallish compressor outlet diameter of 2" is also a bit small. 2.5" would be better and a +55mm hotside exit would also be better.

Curiously, I'm very interested in the manufacture of the turbo.
I've heard that some of the very early Audi group4 10V rally cars used a K26 variant. And obviously there were many 10V manifolds in production during those early years. Some were crazy looking. Eventually Audi used a K27 turbo for all their race stuff. What is the exact number on the compressor housing. Can you send me or post a better picture of the blue tag?

Yes it is, little holes drilled and tappet into the casting

I have full boost around 4000-4400, yes it is a bit lagy but i thing i will try it with my new setup, i´ve been told that the cold side should produce 600-700 hp but the hot side will be the restrictive part and stop at around 500-550,
I bought this new but i had no info about it other than i was good for 500++

The Imsa charger 3476 and different housing i know one who has dynoed one with 9 housing to 630 HP

The S1 charger 3470

The compressor wheel is the same as the ones I have on the Pike's Peak turbos, but on this particular turbo you are talking about a 2" exit. Thats not so good so the housing is MUCH smaller than a K29. The little holes tell me that it isn't a plain off the shelf turbo. Very likely a competition turbo in some companies history (Porsche?) All Audisport turbos had this little feature to lock the studs. This certainly could be a K26 from an Early 10V group4 Audi.

Is it possible to mount a bigger hot side and what should i have? and who can get it done?
Well I have to say that is about the biggest K26 I've ever seen. So I don't think so unless you want to go to a K27.

I am running a K27 #7 hotside and a 3.2" 12 blade compressor wheel in a K28 housing for my car and I do get full 1.5 bar at 4000 rpm. I've been told that a #9 K27 would up that to 4400 rpm and going to a 3.4" 14 blade wheel might up that a few hundred more to possibly 5200 rpm. That is the Pike's peak turbos. My guess is that the K27 #7 is about the same size as this K26 #10 (maybe just a tad bigger cause the exit is about 60mm)

This hybrid you have is really interesting. The only odd thing is the c.55mm exduser which is about the size of the RS2. The scroll volume is larger, but its still pushing all the exhaust gas through the 55mm exit. So I agree with the 550hp limitation due to the hotside. IMO that is likely why Audi made the jump to K27s for hotsides. However, the compressor wheel is BIG but the housing is really small which would be ideal for a 10V which has to cram the turbo over where the airplate used to be. I also think the 10V intake plumbing has a Aramid/Carbon duct which clamps to the front of the turbo. In the pic from Morton you can see the tab welded to the output of the compressor that is Audisport.

This turbo you have is still very incredible. I would use it.

I have this same turbo too, I got it off MDG3369. You could also send him a PM and get some of his opinions on it.

I have around 0,5 bar at 3000 and by 4400 2,2 bar.
Ok then i´m going to try it, and let the figures decide, i was thinking to try turbonetic t04e of some kind, but many of my buddies have had som problems, the turbonetics will not whithstand that kind of a beating as a kkk. and since i am going to try a antilag setup, i think it will be the best solution,

Thank you
