Hey MG group,
I continue to troubleshoot my driver seat switch problem on the CQ - rear backrest recline does not work...All other seat switches (seat bottom front/back, up/down, tilt front & rear) function normally, including the memory function. I pulled the the seat and inspected everything and nothing looks incorrect visually. I spent some time with Bentley and will need to do quite a bit of electrical troubleshooting. Either way, I'll need access to known working spares once I track this down. It's either the motor, the memory sender on the motor, the switch, or the memory module mounted underneath the seat. Since all the other switches work I speculate that it is either the motor, the sender (attached to the motor), or the individual seat recline switch. What's unfortunate is that the switch group is integrated as a complete harness for all the 5 motors which include 4 pigtails IICR. I have canvassed ebay/internet and have not located an available driver switch or motor. I'm not sure if these are specific to the CQ or if they cross-list with other models. ETKA catalog doesn't list a part number, oddly, for the switch.
If anyone has a spare driver seat that they would be willing to harvest, please reach out to me. Any leads would be helpful.
Challenge is finding a teammate who has a seat pulled and willing to open her up.... :thanks:
