just wanted to show how much better the taillights fit the first pictures was how they were before with some really big gaps now they fit nice and tight but i still need to do a bit more messaging but it is 90% good. you can also see the right hand side rear dips down from the inside to outside

today i bought a W8 passat and after i am done with the project at hand i will swap the engine out from the passat into a fiero as this engine is so short for a 8 cylinder i will not need to even touch the firewall at all and it will be a longitudinal install i am thinking a 5 speed automatic the 5hp19 tiptronic i will do a build thread on it but it will at least 6 months away

Only a suggestion, but I was use something else besides an Audi Automatic. They do not last.

well that project for the w8 engine is at least 6 months away i do know that they make a stronger drum that fails but i don't know if turning up line pressure will help on the 5hp19 and my chop top car that has the 4.2 has a 012 manual transmission and i might just go with that transmission in the w8 project

today i did a little bit to the rear section as i sanded the filler and spread a second coat of filler and i think it will take another coat or 2 of filler to get the rear bumper all blended in , after that i will flip it back over and put it back on the car and finish it up then i can move on to the front section of roof and that should not take long nor should the trunk or front end cracks

Sometimes you just need to mock it up so you can get motivated and it worked for me as in my opinion this is gonna be a sick looking car if i can do a good job at finishing it up

That first spray of primer should really assist with the motivation as well.

The w8 engines do sound good but they are extrememly fragile and VW do not make spares for the bottom end. You will be losing around 100bhp from the a8 engine to the w8 engine.

What is the rest of the w8 like? was it a saloon or wagon?

I would love to be able to take a body apart like that to do work on. Makes things a lot easier. Wow.

yes it is nice to be able to pull the body off so you can paint it or work on it or even the chassis
