Last week, I was able to connect to my 882C /034 IIC without problems. The next day, I get a communication error. Thinking my cable went kaput, I bought a new one off Amazon. I also have an older ECU32 (Vintage Pantera EFI/ 034) that I am able to connect to (same computer/cable). Is it possible to mess something up if the data cable connection is disturbured during an upload? I'm out of ideas. If anyone has been through this, I'm grateful for any advice.

I get a message like this when the ECU is not ON. Typically when I turn the car off and still have the program running.
Other than that make sure you are on the correct COM port but seeing that you have the device manager in the background you probably have checked that.
There is also something about the data communications rate but I do not recall how I messed with that. I can look further into it if you have tried the other suggestions.
I hope this is of some help to you.

Thanks. I'm really at a loss. The software is clearly "seeing" the ecu in some capacity, as I get a "no COM" detected when selecting the incorrect com port. If you have some info on port speeds (I know how to adjust it) being set to a certain speed, I'd be interested. It's weird I can communicate with my older ECU32, but not with the 882.

I've been in contact with Bud Pauge of Redline. Despite being buried in work, he has been receptive to helping. I think I'm going to end up sending the box to him to reflash... :(
