so back to wheel help...
its finally time for me to buckle down and buy some wheels as my abt's are no longer mine and my coupe is floating on jackstands..
the porsche cup wheels are out of the question because with their small offset and me having to use adapters, i'd be mariokarting....
found someone who sells bbs rs in 17x 8/8.5 but they cost 2000lbs...bit much for me...
although the wheels are perfect....justmatz.co.uk.
so here is what my possibilities are....
in a bind as I like each wheel ....
Image

could get these for around 1600 in 17x8.5 et30...

Image

a bit cheaper but I'm not too sure about offset and shipping cost.

and the ultralegerra's, light and cheap (well cheaper) 17x8.....and i've always had a thing for black wheels....

Image

I really don't know....all look so good in my mind.....
two are really classy lookin, and the ultralegerra's are purposeful form of function and mean looking....

tunershop.com sells wheels for the german cars in proper offsets. i called them for wheels on my zermatt 4kq and when i told him that i needed the KT1 in 7.5" wide with 35mm offset, he had to look for it. otherwise they have a direct application for it on a 4kq that will fit properly. i'm willing to bet they have it for the CQ as well.

I talked to them...theyve got 17x8.5's in et 35 or 25....
could use 5 mm spacers like elijah on the 35's or just have the wheels to the brim with the et25....
who knows,
sucks I am such an indecisive person...and I've got a credit card that whispers in my ear,
" its ok, just buy the expensive ones if you like.", but I know I should stay close the budget of what I got for my other wheels.....

update time.....

its been a while waiting for all the goodies I've ordered, and finally, theyre here......(at least enough to get movin......)

here's a few things I have done, the fun stuff before the questions begin........

the car now sits on jackstands as the wheels are gone to darin....
kinda wish I hadn't rushed that decision, but the 5 lug hubs are on the way.....either getting some b5 s4 avus wheels or 0z ultralegerras....
(the budget is really hammering me once I began looking at expensive wheels)
Image

chopped and flipped over the fuel line on the fuel rail so it fits with the 034 im
Image

got some porsche vents for the bumper...a little cutting here and there and they fit like a charm...
Image

I had a mental picture of how the intercooler I had would plumb up to the throttle body, so I chopped off an endtank so one side would open up top toward the throttle body, and the turbo side entered through the bottom.....
well I didn't take in account that if the hose goes from the throttle body straight out front and into the intercooler top, it will be out in front of the car...........
sucks because the endtank was a bitch to weld on, (I didn't clean it enough) and now I either chop it off again and reweld it how it was, or just buy a new one......
i'm opting for the latter...
here is the thick weld...

got a s2 rear bumper, finally got the right bumper...
(the euro coupe bumper is still for sale 200 shipped if anyone is interested (thats 200 shipped, not 200 plus shipping, since shipping is cheaper than I thought)
install was easy, just had to drill 2 holes for the s2 mounting brackets since they didn't line up with the coupe ones...and the fenderwell mounts line right up....
Image

here's the throttle body spacer to clear the pow steering pump....close fit....
Image

(and now the beginning of my bombardment of questions:D

--------first question
does a hose come off this top piece to somewhere?
I have a coupe bently manual but the pump is completely different....

here is the beautiful wiring and puter I get to play with...
Image

_________second question
anyone have some suggestions as to where to mount the puter?
does it have to be mounted to something super solid,
could I mount it in my knee cubby?

since I am running ac (or trying my hardest since I live in az), I have to cut a hole in the firewall for the harness to pass through....

i'm thinking here, there's space for the harness to pass right behind the climate box...
Image

------------3rd ? good spot?

and now more questions for basic plumbing since I don't know this motor and don't have any manual for it...................

where do these plumb up to?

i'll call this hose A.........
Image

and hose B........don't know where the metal part plumbs to and the other hose.........
Image

hose C...........off the watermanifold.....dont' know where it goes..
Image

hose D..........it looks like it connects into the block where it's almost connected, just wanna make sure.....also, where do all the small hoses go off this piece?
Image

and the final question.....
is there a fitting that I can use to combine this........? or a place that I can get one from....? the male is too big for the female....
Image

sorry for the numeric questions and all, just wanted to make it an easy reference........
thankyouall for helpin a novice make his way through the brush and into the jungle........
once I get this plumbing figured out then I get the wiring on its way....
and then the real questions begin.... :)
thanks for bearing with me........

I mounted my computer in the glove box. It fits pretty snuggly in there.

I'm not too familiar with the AAN engine and it's different hoses, but I think hose C goes to the afterrun coolant pump. Hose B (pipe) I think is coming from the water pump and goes to the heater core pipe coming out of the firewall right above your finger in the picture where you want to drill the hole. Except your pipes aren't there!! Do you have a heater core in there???

You end up using one CQ fuel line and one fuel line from a 200 20v if you can find it or you'll have to make your own.

No, you can't have your wheels back.

I cut the hole in the firewall and fed the IIc harness through, seeing where all the connectors go...
got that lined up for the most part.....
but
i'm going through the coupe wiring harness and want to start ridding the things I don't need....
I know I don't need the injector wires,,,

do I not need the little injector controller under the wipers either?
and what about all the wires going to the coil control unit? since the new harness now controls the aan coils.......

so that whole system I can rid, or can I?

what did you do darin?

I have a bently but its still confusing....i'm new to those wiring diagrams....i'm just routing colors.....and trying to match them up to the colors going into the connectors to determine what connectors do what and what I don't need...

thanks...

You want to be careful, in the old engine harness you have autocheck and power system wiring that you want to keep, by far the easiest thing to do is cut off the old wires you don't need, tape up the harness and just leave the unused wires there, otherwise you'll have to run new wiring for your autocheck and power system.

yup, thats what I'm doing for the most part........
already lopped off the injectors part.......
I split the harness on the injector side all the way to the part where it splits to the battery side (where the harness is one huge piece)....
trying to keep it as clean as possible...but just as you said be careful, I am trying to do just that, don't want to cut anything that I might need.......

all the other stuff that I was referring to can I just cut that off?
all that goes to the injectors, plugs, and coil controller (on the coupe)????
