I took the entire engine harness out and took it all apart. I kept all the stuff I needed/wanted. If I did it again, I would have done what Javad said. I still have autocheck and used all the power system wiring, but it sure is messy under the dash. With the coupe's fuel injector wiring you only really need the green/yellow wire that goes to the relay so you can cut all the other out. With the IIc ecu the ignition coil set up will depend upon what coils you will run. I'm using 5 7A coils that have 2 wires. One for each corresponding ECU wire and then the other conjuction into one wire that goes to the relay your have to wire for them.

Sounds like one big party doesn't it? :barf:

gotcha......

if I wanted to be safeproof I could just leave everything, wire up the IIc harness, wire up what wires from the coupe harness and cut the rest.....
but then you got me thinking.....
the green yellow wire you're talking about, is this wire in the injector clip bunch of wires or is this a separate connector?

ah yes the headache is slowly beginnig, but a good headache of course....

thanks mate

And just an FYI...my project was my first time even looking at schematics or doing any sort of electrically wiring on a car. And look, my car works. :-D
I respect the hell out of that, definitely consider it a huge accomplishment

gettin there.....finally getting going and letting the fun begin.........

i'm debatin selling the 6speeds I have so I can fund the project as I am getting maxed out and still have a bunch more stuff thats going to come up.......would you be interested since you asked before?

after stressin over all these questions, and not knowing where and what goes where,
RJ, (oh blessed soul), told me vagcat helped him a lot...... :thanks:
holy mother of knowlege I needed.........
i've been stuck at vagcat going through endless pics of all the different aspects of wiring and plumbing that I was stressin so much over....compared everything...got the aan, then 7a and also aby which is damn near an aan in a coupe with a different im and watermanifold....

so my stress level of figuring things out and trying to imagine things way too much is back to , ahhhhhhhh, (at least right now as all this information was a calming of the storm)....

kinda crazy, since we've been wiring my buddies subie with diagrams just like these vagcat ones, I thought that the bently would have these type diagrams with colors of connectors, locations, and all that sort, but nada....
the bently is nice for each wire tracing, but really, I wish I had seen vagcat before getting the bently, I could have prolly gotten by....

:woowoo:

what vacuum and ventilation do I need?
can I bypass a good bit of this?

also, since I don't have any outputs for vacuum on my 034 im, what do I do...

here are the diagrams...

is this the intake manifold????can't tell what it is...

what is circled, or squared, is what I don't have....what do I need?

ps. if anyone has pics of an aan in a coupe I would love some pics if your willing, or if anyone knows of any previous posts or what not...
thanks

this is a pic of the AAN in my coupe. I used stock motronic vs. standalone, but other than that it's pretty similar. BTW, I can't see the images in your most recent post.

here's the url if this works to see the images....

the pic helps a bit.....
still leaves me a bit boggled as I can't see much of the vacuum system.
(I figured out the cooling thanks to vagcat, but have no idea about vacuum)

I don't know what the engine requires to run,
i'm running standalone and there are only a few imputs required to run the motor through the 034 ecu, but does the motor itself need all that vacuum system to simply run...

also I know the im requires a tap for a vacuum line to the 034 ecu, does that take care of it all??????????if I just bypass and route lines for the motors vacuum and ventilation????

the coupe harness doesn't have all the clips to read all the vacuum spots that the aan has either......

:stupid: I need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here is the aby/adu vacuum diagrams....
still doesn't really help as there are no vacuum outputs on the 034 im......

back to the question, can I bypass these vacuum lines or find vacuum elsewhere than the im?
thanks...
