Battery Box

So after searching I wasn't able to find any examples, but I know that the Euro S2's have a battery box under the rear seat, like the URS4. I know people source them from europe and weld them into their us market coupes. I'm curious if the URS4 box is similar or could be cut out and used in the coupe. Any comments from people that have hacked up an S4?

thanks!

Oh I have the URS4 that is the donor for the motor already, I was planning on taking the battery terminal post and the battery cable as well, I was curious though if the battery box on it is something I could sawsall out and weld into mine, I haven't seen what the box would look like out of the car and it just seemed strange to me that I had never heard of anyone using one of these boxes, everyone seems who does it seems to source it from europe.

I realize most people just move the battery to the trunk area and get one of the Summit racing or similar batter containers....

Dave, you can always fit your battery in the trunk. Either where that little box in the right corner is or right behind the tank....get a gel cell battery and no need for a box.

I know you'd like OEM look though and for that i guess S2 tray is the best....they aren't expensive or even terribly hard to make if you can weld..

My battery is right behind the tank, and simply tied down by an Alu bracket that's bolted to the trunk floor on both sides.

did you see what I did to mine? there is not alot of room to do much under the seat. this is about the only way it would fit with the stock undercarrage. you will just have to see mine for yourself to understand how and why.

Passenger side of a CQ, right. Did you have to reroute anything under the car like fuel lines?

pretty much in the area occupied by the resonator. unless you get all the subframe hardware and other junk the drivers side is a no go. besides, the fuel filter is already at home right there.

Doesn't Toledo Joe have a big writeup about the S2 box over on AW? Seems like that would be a good place to start.

AW is ruined, some of the archived material survived, some did not.
search function is getting mixed results.
