You can upload pics to the gallery by going to users photos and making a new nested album (top right menu) under admin options, and then uploading photos with the same menu. Sounds like an awesome project, although I'm not sure the b4 engine bay conversion will actually help you any if you're swapping an A4 engine in there. Might as well use the coupe set up and put the radiator and intercooler up front. There'll be room, its one cyl shorter than the 7A, I don't know dimensions off the top of my head. Depending on what sort of turbo and boost you're going to be running, I'd get a thicker head gasket to drop compression some rather than dished pistons. At least at first. Good luck, keep us posted!

yah, i figured i'd swap over all the stuff from the engine bay for a couple reasons.

my coupe has just shy of 300k on it, and the b4 car has 46k on it. so i'll have some newer parts in there.

also, the bomb on my coupe is gone so im thinking of just converting everything to the newer style brake booster.

plus i love that big front mount radiator :)

quick question for anyone who knows...

when talking to someone about doing the aba block, they mentioned that they had heard that if you use the aba block that its a little taller than the AEB block and it ends up messing up how the manifolds line up and all?? they reccomended getting JE pistons and boring out the 1.8 block, and using the aba crank.

any ideas? this would be way more pricey than just using the aba block.

also does anyone know what the compression ratio would be with the ABA bolted up to the AEB?

right, the manifolds will bolt up with the head sitting alone on a bench, nothing to do with the block at all.

damn, i didn't realize he used a european box, i was figuring on just using the stock a4 1.8t box, no?

yep, im thinkin Ic.

anyone know what year vw's came with the ABA that had the 60-2 pully on em?
if not i guess i'll just look junkyard to junkyard til i find one.

thanks

:-D , its happening!!!

the project got put on hold for a little bit due to financial shat, but now, i've had my new job for a little while, and damn, its good.

sooo the coupe will be getting its new engine before the end of november.

so far i have the engine torn apart, the heads in the process of being ported and polished, then will be off to the machine shop for the valve job and head plane. i havn't started doing the manifold yet, b/c i figure i'll just wait til the engine is in the car, then i can make sure everything is where i want it.

so far the parts i have currently are...
-19lb injectors (ebay)
-ABA throttle body (ebay)
-EIP tuning copper HG
-tons of refresher parts, it'll be like a new engine.
-all the stuff to make my intake and exhaust manifolds
-a T3 turbo

still waiting to arive in the mail...
-FMIC (Ebay)
-FMIC piping and silicone couplings (some from ebay, some from ATP)
-downpipe materials and flanges from ATP
-euro B4 engine mount brackets (thank you alex)
-oil line stuff from ATP
-Forge bypass valve
-my new 16" wheels b/c i have one severly bent and cant find just one

so yah, i'll be getting a lot of packages tomorrow and next week

now, the parts im in the process of ordering from javad as soon as im told how to pay.

-Stage 1C package
-Plug and play harness (makes my life easier :-D )
-60-2 tooth wheel
-1.8T vr sensor
-1.8T air temp sensor
-injector bungs
-Spec Stage 3 clutch

Now all i have left to order over the next week or two are...

-light weight flywheel
-RS2 or RS4 front bumper
-and possibly a new turbo (i see garret t3/t4 hybrids go on ebay all the time for like $300-$400

then she's off to have the b4 hood and new front bumper painted
