thanks for the pix of the TPS sensor and bracket steve... looks slick.

How do you have the TB rigged to go into the TPS though... got a backside pick? I have a KH IM and TB, but wasn't seeing how you rigged it to the TPS.

Lookin' good though! Can't wait to see it up and running :woowoo:

Well, it's running...kind of.

We cannot get it to stop running super rich.

Also, it is real smokey. At first I thought it was unburnt fuel but it had a blueish tint to it which makes me think it's burning oil. I don't know why it'd do that all of a sudden...

I looked at all the hoses and my crankcase breather setup and I can't imagine I've pressurized the system somehow enough to blow oil past the turbo seals.

Regarding the crankcase breather: I simply connected the crankcase hose to the "T" at the top of the valve cover and then ran both to a breather can vented to atmosphere.

Meh.

Stephen, did the TPS you use have a very shallow entry for the throttle shaft? What application was it for? I want to pick up a scrapper TPS and screw the new bosch AAN TPS I got from 034 as its just more of pain than anything else on the KH, whereas it's a piece of cake on the MC. Speaking of which, anyone need a brand new TPS? lol

Also just wondering if you or anyone else could pass along their easytherm info to extrapolate the right formula for the OEM CTS. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, feel free to send me your maps. I'd like to compare it to what I've got...

I used to a TPS from a Grand Am/Prix. Not sure what year it was but I can get a part # if needed...

The TPS I used fit the shaft ok. We had to grind down the KH shafts length just a tad as it was too long.

I have the 3 reference points for easy therm but won't be able to get them until tomorrow night.

For what it's worth it's about 20 degrees off what they should be for some reason...

BTW, Jeff told me about some Bosch type sensor that has the same readings as the GM sensor but fits in the stock Audi coolant flange.

Ok, Megasquirts completely installed.

Been trying to get the car tuned the last couple days. Slow going.

Also finished up a couple of odds and ends...

Installed a Jaz breather can:

Connected a nipple to the intake from the breather:

The finished engine bay:

Thats all for now. I need to redo the wiring to my euro lights and someday I plan on making a fitting so I can drain the breather back into the crankcase.

Gone tuning...

Well made some headway last night tuning.

We were having some problems with jerkiness and stumbling and the car was way too rich everywhere.

We got Megatune to finally work right by changing some values. Drove around with Autotune on for about an hour and it really smoothed out my VE tables. They were way, way off...

The stumbling and jerking is gone and the car runs smooth.

I still need to tune the upper rev range under boost and get the cold starting sorted out.

Cold starts seem way too lean and it stalls out a couple times before it will stay idling. It also coughs if I give it any throttle.

Could any of you megasuirters help me out with these numbers?

What are the settings you're using for these:

WARMUP ENRICHMENT:

-40:
-20:
0:
20:
40:
60:
80:
100:
130:
160:

Also...AFTERSTART ENRICHMENT

ASE timer:
ASE total time:
ASE mode:

Afterstart enrichment table:
-40:
-20:
0:
20:
40:
60:
80:
100:
130:
160:

I had the car starting up well but then lost everything when we rebooted the chip while trying to download some software.

I'm using MSnE. Not sure if that helps you, but I've got my cranking setting pulsewidths dialed in. It starts awesome.
I could send you my file if you like. Haven't had it on the road yet, so your ahead of me on the tuning.

lemme get some screen shots....

edit: here they are, i'm not saying their perfect. below 25 degrees my car has a HORRENDOUS cold start problem that nothing can get rid of. I'm 99% sure it's the vresion of the MSnS-E i'm running causing it, as it wasn't yet a stable release when i uploaded it two years ago. It never had a problem prior to that on the old code, and the problem only started after the update, with the exact same settings. Sure is nice to not have that car as a DD anymore.......

above 25, it starts and idle's very easily. no ISV so "cold" starts take a little throttle to keep it going for a minute or two, probably could tune that out, but i don't really care. as long as the a/c doesn't kick on it stays running.

steve, if we ever get to meet up sometime, you owe me a truckload of beers! 8)

Thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for.

The beers are on me:

I'll put these numbers in tommorow along with an ISV and see what happens.

Cold start issues aside, I did get to go on a 300 mile round trip this weekend to a Audi/VW GTG in Lansing Michigan.

It was good to get the car out and see how it performed after the EFI swap. It ran great. The only problem I had was with the idle screw backing out and falling off.

Thank god it wasn't still CIS or I would have been screwed...:)

Here's a pic on the way there:

Ahh, I see the problem. Your running lean right? 100% in MT means no correction, anything over 100% means correction. Your running <100% after -40C, so your subtracting fuel.
Afterstart enrichment is meant to be a slight tweak to the warm-up enrichment. I wouldn't mess with that until the warm-up in dialed in.
Cranking setting are about like mine.

Just found this topic on MS forum about the same thing:
