very nice. Nice to see a project as difficult as yours come to together so well. I like to see someones idea come to the right end.

Congrads.

mmm mmmm mmmmm! that sounds delicious!! awesome work Hilly :)

I second that! Damn fine work Hilly!!! :-D

Hilly, I saw a link to this thread on tyresmoke.net, what a thread. I am in trouble at home for ignoring my children and having to read the saga to the end. Very prolly the best thread that I have ever had the pleasure to read.

The big question now is, when you gonna start producing the rest of us the conversion kits?

I was gonna say that the next time I'm by Heathrow (I'm the opposite side of the M25 in Essex) that I'd pop by for a looksee. But turning up at yours in a V8 powered Audi A8 isnt gonna be a good idea, is it?

Its "blokes in sheds" that makes us Brits proud, you've inspired me

Hilly, we have the horse thing over here too. Amish folk live around here, except we normally run across them while doing 60mph on State routes...

Anyway, too bad it was so soggy during the videos! Car sounds great though :)

Thanks for the encouraging words.
Next time you are in the Heathrow area or there is a local(ish) A8 meet let me know and we'll see if we can set something up as I could do with another engine for the next project :).

Well Windsor is just up the road from me, I'll have to check that out.

a) I have still got some stuff to do on the Esprit, plus I haven't got a garage so I don't really have the room to start another project till I move.
b) Nothing, this is my first engine swap.

I was tending that way, you handled the ecu stuff with ease and the part about using a pic chip as a engine simulator was pure genius.

I trained in electronics but i am now an IT systems engineer, I wish I could remember half of what I have forgotten

Great stuff, must get on with a project soon, can't decide what though, Thoroughly enjoyed the read

I was directed here via a posting in a Newsgroup & I felt compelled to register so I could post.

WOW !!! Absolutely bloody superb

I've got to say looking at this project was like reading a best seller book, once you start reading it you cant put it down !

I read your trials & tribulations from cover to cover, much to the annoyance of my wife, who was waffling on about Christmas lists etc etc

many thanks for, what was for me, the "best seller" of the year

all the best for your next project

Nah, this is far better - by all accounts CC would have left the engine mounts as cardboard. ;)

Fab job BTW - I might just get the enthusiasm to start designing and building my single-seat track day car - how much was the engine and gearbox? A set of throttle bodies and some race cams should see it fit for what I am thinking of!

Hilly, I don't know what to be amazed at more, the fact that you did a fantastic job with the car, or the amount of first-posts I've seen on your thread. Way to bring the people in, man!

I registered for the sole reason of replying to this thread.

Hilly what you have done with that Esprit is truly amazing, I take my hat of to you sir.

One of the best threads ever!!
