The only problem I had was with the idle screw backing out and falling off.
i've lost more than 10 of those. i keep a few in the trunk, but my last fix is holding. i drilled a hole across the top of the idle screw hole and after it's in and set with teflon tape, i run a piece of wire thru there. the teflon seems to have fixed it though, that and new orings on it.

audibeans, i used to have the settings reading >100, absolutely no change. still a hard start when cold below 25ish degrees. for the version of code i'm running, they're correct. i'm not a noob at this setup. i'm well thru my 3rd year with it, and 65k+ miles. the problem only arose when i switched to the version of code i'm currently running and haven't had a chance to update to the current stable version.

oh and steve, the car is looking AWESOME, as usual!

right out of the manual....you're referring to the warmup wizard. that needs to have value's over 100 in it.

"Afterstart Enrichment

The afterstart enrichment is one that decays from its max value (specified in the "Enrichment (percent)" field) to zero in a linear fashion over a period defined in "Number of Ignition Cycles." If you specify 20% enrichment over 250 ignition cycles, then the first pulse is enriched by 20%, the 125th pulse is enriched by 10% and the 250th (and later) by zero percent (this assumes 1 event per cycle, or a 1 cylinder engine; divide by the number of ignition events per cycle to get the specific behavior for your motor)."

Well, I plugged in those values today and the car won't start at all now.

Laptop went dead so I gave up for now.

Really starting to dislike Megasquirt at the moment.

Uhm, you need to tell the cranking settings to reference to the table you set up there. As it is now, I *think* it might just be using some fixed value irregardless of temp. And I dunno what I did, by my car fires up scary fast right now. Different engine/injection setup, but I'd be happy to grab my values if needbe.

*Edit: Doh, that was Jeff's screenshots I was talking about there.

my car starts after about 1/4 crank with warm or cold engine above 25 degree's with those settings. Did you change them and then upload? just trying to cover the bases.

i'd change the priming pulse to once after two seconds too. twice is too much fuel in the summer. Is your TPS hooked up and calibrated? it could be flooded...

Got enough cranking voltage? I've got my After-start setting all set at zero, it starts fine. Haven't touched the warm-up enrichments, but it's pretty warm here. I'm running 60psi static pressure.....might be too much tho....

Ok so I'm still not having much luck with getting this thing to start up good.

Whats happening is that it cranks over and fires and shoots to 2000 rpm's and then dies over and over. I have to do this 7-8 times before it stays running. Giving it gas either kills it or keeps it running...very random. I am using the stock ISV.

Heres' some of my settings. Maybe some of you megasquirt guys can look it over and see where I'm wrong.

This is for 42# injectors at 3 bar using MS v2.2 and MSnSE to tune it.

did you try disconnecting the ISV?
Was having these problems pre ISV.

I added the ISV last week and it actually made it easier to start.

Before, I just had the ISV port blocked off and the idle screw backed out far enough to give me a 800-900 idle. Problem with that was the ilde screw kept falling out because I'd have to unscrew it so far...

try not firing the priming pulse twice. that *could* be a lot of fuel.

why is your standard priming pulsewidth only at 0.4? try upping that to like 6.0 or something.

What is your 02 telling you? you have wideband right?

I'm stuck in narrow band hell at the moment.

Will do on the priming pulsewidth. I'm not so sure why it's so low.

I'll set the priming pulse to once and see what happens.

I really wish there was a manual for Megatune. I don't know what half this shit should be set at.

actually there is a manual, open up your cranking menu, hit F1. you have my number too if i can help at all!

I'd bet a lot it's the pulsewidth being too low.

Oh and get out of hell ASAP! 034 sells this for a very good price point!
Yeah, I used the F1 button countless times. There's just not enough info IMHO.

I hope it's just low pulsewidths, that'd be cool.

I've been eyeing that wideband for sometime. Just short of cash at the moment.

LOL. I'm trying to stay cash only at this point.

I changed some settings around today. Changed the Warm up settings %, priming PW to once and standard PW to 6.0. Didn't make much of a difference.

I then came back after a couple of hours and changed the req fuel to 11 after talking to Cody Forbes. The car fired right up and idled smooth. It even ran smooth during warmup...nice.

It's running pretty rich according to the narrow band(12's) so I'm gonna try changing the req fuel down each day until I find a good compromise...

Fingers crossed.

tuning without a WB is kind of like driving in pitch dark with the parking lights on.... not very fun or safe :p

good luck though :D
