TT - yup.....

More info PLEASE :)
Dont have anymore info Hayden, wish I did!
all I know is that its a twin turbo 40V C4 chassis
Sure looks interesting, Ill do some more digging.

in the meantime I would just like to say that the person that invented the process of plasterboard, then tape and set, then sand, then more mud, then sand, then some more mud and another sand and then paint...... was a sick individual. They should be ritualistically tortured for at least 30 years before being killed in some horrible fashion!

I just got done wiht 5 hours of sanding the ceiling, well half the ceiling in my shop after the first coat. What a PITA!!!

And the best part is, I get to do the same thing tomorrow night, and the next night, and so on and so on....

yeah, I think I've done all the volunteer work I can muster for now. good luck with that! :-o

Is it cruel that I'm cracking up at that picture?

for a sec I thought you were too close to marc while he was powder coating :p

Engine mounts (with electrical connections) include the mounts for the ARB, not sure if I can use any of this yet.

Cool.. these first appeared on 1990 100 2.5 TDI
Depending on rpm etc etc the mounts would go hard or soft (electromagnet inside the mount).

I can see TDIs but didn't know V8s needed those.. ;)

I hear yah Micah, it really does suck though, so much so I took a break from sanding tonight and worked in the attic laying insulation for 3 hours. Crawling about in fiberglass in sub zero temps is so much more pleasant than mudding!

Having said that I stood in there just now and looked about and it is going to be a damned nice shop pretty soon :)

H - that whole tape and mud thing sucks, which is why I am not going to do that in the garage. I'm going to run a moisture resistant paneling that is already white. Nail it up, move to the next piece. I can always caulk between the panels if I wanted to.
I can honestly say that you have a damned good plan there!

Although the finish of the sheetrock is going to be damned nice eventually, plus is adds a level of soundproofing the neighbors will appreciate when I am working at 2am in there.

Really, they had these back in 1990, wow. Makes sense on the diesels as you say. wether the V8's 'need' them is doubtful, but they sure do drive nice. I definitely dont need them on this build so I wonder what else I could make out of them?

Thanks! I thought so too, since I still have a room, bathroom, WIC and a storage room to build/rock. Also, I don't care about my neighbors (well, most of them anyway), plus with a 22mo old I can't work too late unless its quiet stuff...

6x 5gal buckets of spackle so far...not done yet! (Off to buy one more tomorrow to do the cupboard (4'w x 17'L x 13'h)

Main shop and new stairwell is now 2nd coated and ready for a final sand once its dry in a couple of days.

I am hoping to prime & paint the place by the end of this coming weekend, oh and hang the heater....

I may be able to see some light at the end of this dusty, messy, horrible tunnel I am in.

I know, I know.....Im working on it, or I will be once its at my house.[/i]

Haydn, what are you going to paint the walls with? You should paint a large area , if not the whole thing, with dry erase board paint. You could take notes and make lists everywhere. That would be cool...
